In the July Issue:

Whether you’re a seasoned online business owner or you’re just getting started, by now, you’ve most likely heard that to grow your business, it’s essential to start by getting your systems in order.

But what the heck does that even mean?

If you feel overwhelmed and confused about what systems you need to grow your business sustainably, you’re in the right place! Let’s break down ‘systems’ and the three key systems you need to grow your business to 6-figures and beyond.

What Are Systems… And Why YOU Need Them in Your Biz

A system is a process that dictates how something is done from start to finish; essentially, systems are how we do what we do.

You’re already living and running your business in systems, and it’s in how you do your morning routine or how you currently start working with clients.

The real question is…are those systems optimized and working FOR you? Or are you stuck working for your systems?

Having solid systems in place makes the ‘how’ part of our business as easy as possible – and let’s be honest: it’s also so you can know what is going on daily!

The 3 Key Systems for Scaling to Six-Figures

These are the first three systems I implement (or optimize) when working with any new client.

System 1: Content Process

Chances are, if you run any business, one of your main focuses is creating CONTENT.

A system for content creates organization for everything from your raw ideas to your polished posts. It allows you to create easily, knowing that you’re saving time, not searching through random Google drive folders or notes on your phone.

Plus, when you’re ready to delegate content-related tasks to new team members, it’s SO much easier to manage the entire content creation process, and move the content to its next stage of development within your content management tool.

System 2: Streamlined Client Onboarding

A clear client onboarding process is the second key system you need to create in your online business.

Client management is both the process of how you manage your clients, from their initial discovery call to their final steps as your client, and also how you keep track of, and manage, your students, if you’re creating a course or group program.

Creating a streamlined and automated client onboarding system, that makes your customer feel valued, makes it possible for you to sell whenever and wherever, as well as impresses your new clients from the get-go with your high-touch process.

System 3: Email Marketing + Lead Generation Tracking

By now, if you’re in the online biz world, you’ve likely heard of email marketing, and you know it’s important, even if you’re not entirely clear on exactly what it is.

Don’t overlook this system! It doesn’t matter how many subscribers or followers you have to begin with. Ensure you have a way for people to opt in, even when you’re just starting. (I wish I had started my email list way sooner than I did!).

You don’t own your social accounts, but you do own your email list.

This is a way to make connecting with your audience inevitable – no algorithms to worry about here! As long as they’ve opted-in, your audience will be connecting with you on a regular basis.

3 Final Tech Tips

While adding all these systems sounds great in theory, you might think, “I’m not techy enough to do this!”

Here are a few final tips to help you move forward when you’re feeling stuck.

Tip 1: Tech is a skill, not a talent.

No one is born knowing how to work a computer (ok, maybe Gen Z…). Give yourself grace and space to learn something new! (Thank god for YouTube!).

Tip 2: Work Backwards.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all the steps to implement, start by brain dumping your ideal process in a mind map, and then work backward to implement it. You don’t have to do it all at once; start with just.

Tip 3: Outsource Your Roadblocks.

If you find yourself procrastinating in a specific area of your setup, skip the drama and find someone else to do it! Outsourcing key pieces of setup can help us move forward so much faster than knuckling through and trying to do it on our own.
