As women entrepreneurs, we often pride ourselves on our resilience, perseverance, and ability to overcome obstacles. We push ourselves to work harder, think smarter, and achieve more, all in the name of success. But what if I told you that our past experiences, especially those from childhood, can be holding us back from reaching our full potential?

 

Recent research in neuroscience and epigenetics has uncovered the powerful impact of our subconscious 'software' programs on our confidence, action, self-care, and emotional health. These programs are created through our past experiences, and can shape our beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors without us even realizing it. They can lead to self-doubt, anxiety, overwhelm, procrastination, and other forms of self-sabotage, that can hinder our success in life and business.

For example, a woman who grew up with a critical parent may develop a subconscious program that tells her she's not good enough, no matter how successful she becomes. Or a woman who experienced trauma may have a subconscious program that triggers fear or anxiety in certain situations, even if there's no real danger present. These programs can be so deeply ingrained that they become automatic and override our conscious efforts to change them.

 So what can we do about these subconscious patterns? 

The good news is that there are tools and techniques available to help us coach and guide women to overcome these barriers to success. Personal development, mentorship, and mind-body-soul programs that include good health practices,meditation, and other forms of self-care can all be powerful tools in helping us re-program our subconscious minds.

 

Research has shown that by practicing mindfulness and self-compassion, we can reduce the effects of stress, and negative self-talk, on our brains and bodies.

We have to make time for self care.

By engaging in activities that promote physical and emotional health, such as exercise, healthy eating, and social support, we can create a foundation of well-being that can support us through challenging times.

 

Mentorship or coaching is recommended.

 

Mentors provide accountability, valuable resources in helping us gain new perspectives, identify our strengths and weaknesses, and develop actionable strategies for achieving our goals. By working with someone who has been there and done that, we can learn from their experiences and avoid common pitfalls.

 

My best advice is evidence, our past does not define our future. Against all odds we can break through almost any obstacle to become unstoppable in our life and business goals. Learning to re-program our minds and overcome these barriers to success is waiting for you!
