Take ‘Should Exercise’ off your To Do list, and Let Amazing Results Unfold
How many times have you said to yourself, ‘I should really exercise more'?
As a busy woman entrepreneur, you already know exercise is good for you, but don’t have the time, or energy to fit it in. You might even be feeling like it’s just another chore on your never ending “To Do” list.
What if you were able to cross that one off your list?
As human beings, we have not evolved to ‘exercise’. It goes against our natural instinct to conserve our energy. Which is why, when we are faced with the choice of the gym or the sofa, it’s often the sofa that wins.
Exercise is an artificial, modern invention designed to combat our inactive lifestyles and, ironically, the word ‘exercise’ comes from the Latin ‘exercere’ meaning ‘keep busy’. Just the association with the word ‘exercise’ can be enough to put you off doing it.
Although, we don’t need to ‘exercise’, we do need to move. However, it’s not just about moving more; taking the stairs instead of the lift, for example, but more importantly, thinking about the type of movement we do, and moving better.
As a busy woman entrepreneur, it is possible to do this successfully. All you need is an approach that works for you, one that fits easily into your hectic schedule, is enjoyable, and sustainable.
This different approach starts with YOU. Your Identity.
What are you letting yourself off the hook for, or avoiding when you say ‘I haven’t got enough time to exercise’? I always said this to myself, until my business mentor asked me the same question.
I didn’t see it straight away, but I was avoiding taking responsibility for my own health and fitness. I was BEING a busy, overwhelmed entrepreneur, putting myself last.
Reset your identity and start BEING a fit, strong, active and healthy woman entrepreneur.
By being an active, strong entrepreneur, your actions will follow, and you can stop doing artificial exercise that feels like a chore, and integrate functional, effective and conscious movement into everything you do.
I believe the most effective way for women entrepreneurs to do this is through Pilates. Pilates is mindful movement; the principles can be applied to every movement you make, and it benefits both your physical and mental health.

Start by easily combining Pilates into your lifestyle and have fun moving:
- Balance on one leg whilst brushing teeth
- Roll down in the shower
- Arch and round your back whilst the kettle is boiling
- Do a spine twist, standing or sitting
- Stretch your neck and do shoulder rolls every time you stand up
- Rise onto your toes and then bend your knees a few times when standing up from your desk
- Engage your core whilst sitting, standing, walking
- Do 3 shoulder bridge before getting into bed
Who says you need more time? These are small movements, which all add up during the day and are the start of you being an active entrepreneur. The more you move, the more you want to move, because it makes you feel good, strong, confident and calm.

When you show up as a successful, active, confident entrepreneur, who prioritizes her own health and fitness, movement becomes a part of who you are.
You will find that :
- Moving will become easy and enjoyable
- Your actions and habits will follow
- You’ll be the best version of yourself.
What becomes possible for you and your business when you can move with ease, confidence and joy?
