In the November Issue:

There’s a moment, a split millisecond as you leap off the bungee platform - when there is absolutely no turning back.

For me - that millisecond came after ten agonizing, and terrifying minutes of gathering my courage, and trying to talk myself into letting go of the handrail and facing my lifelong fear of heights. I knew logically that I was perfectly safe - but emotionally - I was experiencing the fear of certain death.

There were three moments which happened in very quick succession at around that ten minute mark - three moments which did indeed see me gliding gracefully earthwards through the air (and loving every second of it).

In a second of clarity - my mind emptied and all I saw was the flight ahead of me. I was ready. I decided.

Then the next moment happened.

I committed. There was no going back now. I let go of the rail, stepped up to the edge and exhaled.

Before the countdown reached 7 - the 3rd moment happened - I took action and took flight.

Many business owners say that they want a bigger business - but month after month, year after year - they stay in the same place (akin to that bungee platform) because they aren’t doing the three things that will make all the difference:

Decide

Commit

Act

Let me run through them quickly with you, so that you can see what I mean.

First you must DECIDE.

Decide what you want. Decide that you WILL achieve your goal - be it more sales, more customers, or more time - it all starts with a decision.

To decide - is to cut off any other option.

It’s a bone-deep feeling of THIS! I will do this!

EVEN THOUGH it’s scary.

EVEN THOUGH I have never done this before.

EVEN THOUGH I don’t know for certain it will work.

Next - you must COMMIT

When you commit - it is a moment of ‘no going back’. It fortifies your decision - you are 100% committed to the outcome. Just like when I stepped up to the edge of that platform all those years ago and I let go of the rail - it was a single-minded commitment - and going back wasn’t an option.

Without a commitment to follow that decision - those dreams will remain dreams. Nothing will change unless you are committed to making that change.

When you commit, you must choose to only see your outcome that you desire - you are focused, and you are not easily distracted by ‘shiny new objects’, other people in your industry, or by doubts, fears or overthinking. We all have those doubts - that’s part of life, as is fear - but when you allow them to disable you and your business - you are showing yourself that you are not really committed.

And Finally - take ACTION.

Part of that commitment to a goal - is a commitment to act.

With action - you can go as fast or as slow as you want to go - there’s no rush or race - but consistent steps at any speed - WILL get you to your goals.

So how will you implement these three steps?

What will you decide? How committed are you going to be? And what actions will you take?

Because I promise you - when you do these three things - you WILL achieve your goals.
